Birthing Misconceptions
I have no control over my labour; it’s up to the health professionals
Your health care team wants you to have your best birth possible! Nurses, family doctors, obstetricians and midwives in your community are all trained to listen to your concerns and respond with information that can help you make decisions that are right for you and your baby. This website has helpful information and links to further resources. The Best Birth Clinic at BC Women’s has been set up to counsel women who are thinking of having a first cesarean birth without a medical reason or who’ve had a previous cesarean birth and want to know more about their options for a safe vaginal birth. The Best Birth Clinic also counsels women whose babies are breech (buttocks presenting) and who may be interested in trying to turn the baby or having a vaginal breech delivery. Referrals are accepted from your care provider but you may also make an appointment.
